The North Arkansas College Foundation Economic Update Luncheon Series is sponsored by The Point Financial Group and features speakers in the areas of cybersecurity, economic research, real estate and more. The series is designed to give attendees a glimpse into economic challenges locally, at the state level and nationally.
Dr.Michael Pakko, chief economist, and state economic forecaster at the Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock will be the speaker Wednesday, September 13, at the Economic Update Luncheon at North Arkansas College. The event is sponsored by The Point Financial Group and will be held in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Center on the South Campus.

Before moving to Little Rock in 2009, Dr. Pakko spent 16 years as a research economist and officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, where he published research on a variety of topics, including international trade, economic growth, macroeconomics, and public policy. After drifting into the study of regional economics, Dr. Pakko found himself in Arkansas, tasked with providing his analysis of the state’s macroeconomic conditions and outlook. In addition to his other research responsibilities at AEDI, Dr. Pakko co-hosts anannual Arkansas Forecast Conference (with the Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis); he is an adjunct professor at the UALR School of Business; and he maintains the Arkansas Economist website at www.arkansaseconomist.com.
